IMG_8563_4_5_tonemapped-2The Dalmatian city of Split  is a Croatian town situated on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea. The town has a population of nearly 180 000 residents.

The city is centred around the ancient Roman Palace of the Emperor Diocletian and the nearby bay and port.

Today Split is a very important transport hub as it links the mainland to a great number of Adriatic islands and the Apennine peninsula.

Apart from that, the city is a very popular tourist destination offering something to everybody and is visited by thousands of tourists annually.
