Japan_Hiroshima_1_SVARCHiroshima whose name means  “Wide Island” in Japanese, is situated in the Hiroshima Prefecture and is one of the largest cities in the country.

It is best known as the first city in history to be attacked with a nuclear weapon. The memories of the atomic bombing of August 6, 1945 by the US Army Air Force are still alive the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and  the Atomic Bomb Dome, in particular.
