The city stands around the beautiful Baía de Todos os Santos bay (All Saints’ Bay) and its area has a mixture of tourist attractions and nature living in a perfect harmony.

The city has the highest percentage of individuals of African descent outside Africa in the world. That fact influences over many cultural aspects in the city and contributes to the development of the Afro-Brazilian culture.

Salvador is nicknamed as “Brazil’s capital of happiness” because of its numerous popular outdoor  paties and fests as well as its street  carnival that is supposed to be the biggest on the planet.
